Babylon 5: Marcus at his best Part 1
Vir Cotto = BALLS OF STEEL
Always loved the Minbari Warrior Caste uniform
Babylon 5 was really the most british show a polish immigrant to America could have ever produced. Well, until one puts an alien into an american hot dog stand that is much bigger inside of course.
The balls on Neroon.
2:22 Speak up! I have tiny ears.👂
He walked onto Babylon 5 hating him He fought him and and began to respect him He left that room liking him In later episodes they talk about how Minbari humor is about being failing to learn the lessons about enlightenment, which makes Marcus' comment even funnier...
Ohh, yes yes yes! One of the most iconic scenes in this series! Stephen Furst's delivery in this scene was gold, and the one hopelessly clueless sort who declared this series' acting "jarringly awful" in one online commentary clearly was smoking the wrong stuff--or was a salty Joss Whedon fanboy.
I think the moment in this fight that really made him scary was Neroon smacking Marcus in the side and deadpanning "I broke your rib." *THWACK* "I just broke another." That showed me how much delight he was taking in breaking Marcus across the board.
He goes from casually snarling "I broke a rib...I broke another one," as he viciously beat Marcus to pulp, to vastly respecting Marcus for the courage of his convictions and even admiring him. That was the beginning of Sattai Neroon's journey, for sure. This was one of the hardest and most coldhearted Minbari warriors extant at the time and it came to that. That says a lot about Marcus right there, about his bravery and conviction and determination.
Jealous much?
Wait a second- Zathras is a Ranger?
The best Marcus is him singing in the freight compartment with Steve.
He died so Ivanova could live 😢
Marcus, so good and brave, his character stands for all the, young men, whom died in battle.
Best part Delen with G'gar, that scene
Sorry Atlantis
I love Star Trek, and enjoyed Stargate SG1, Stargate Anlantis was good. Then cancel it, then have that crap show Stargate Universe, no good characters. Rubbish. However Babylon 5 was brilliant. It's a book 5 Chapters. Great❤
The best ever SC fi ever.
Meanwhile the shadows are thinking if only he was important,no idea that he was the most important man in the conversation.
i miss bablyon 5
Well vir got his wish
We talk about neroon a lot here, and yes, he is a paragon of character development. But spare a thought for Marcus here: Neroon hospitalizes him in the course of trying to murder one of his friends, and despite that, he understands Neroons motive and reasons, apparently bears him no ill will, teaches him the error of his ways AND finds time to crack a joke. The linchpin character of the show is certainly Londo, but If the show HAS a classic warrior/gentleman hero, it is Marcus.
Best scene in the entire series. RIP Flounder...
How is this shit fashion, i use to use the electrical tape on my arms and apply bands like a super-hero when i was a kid, especially after footy when the tape was in my bag. Now its put on naked chics and called fashion. Are you serious, this guy is a hack and its nothing more than looking at half naked chics.
If Minbari humor is based on failing to obtain deep spiritual or emotional understanding. . . Then how come those Minbari that kept asking Commander Sheridan to apologize for his actions during the defeat of the Black Star weren't laughted out of the Federation?
just love this. Vir and Leneer( Bill Mumy character) were good co stars to their main leads...both part of the Conscience of the show, and none more than Vir....it really gave B 5 a depth in rounding out all the characters with significant parts. And Vir did get his wish...
Vir was a beast in the disguise of a subordinate! XD
You know what I like to think? I like to think that answer actually amused the shadows that tail Morden night and day. Too bad they didn't like the ending :)
After the death of Emporia Cartazua Londo blew up the island of Celene to destroy the Shadow base on Centari Prime. He later gave Vir the gift of Mordin's head on a pike. Vir looked up at his lifeless eyes and waved!!!!
I love the look on Delenn and Lanier's faces... "Naroon is LAUGHING over the broken body of Marcus, whom he defeated in Combat... that SICK Warrior Caste Maniac!" ;)
This..... This was the most crushingly beautiful scene. It just turned the concept of space monks into the truest definition of who we are, what we are, and why we are here. Thank you B5 for these moments of pure beauty.
Delenn and Lennier completely flatfooted! I didn't think that was possible for Mimbari - apparently it's quite possible. Never realised it until now!
Deep down, Vir Cotto was always wiser than Londo Mollari. Londo taught him to be brave. Vir was pretty much unstoppable at that point.
I miss the writing in this show. I really wish someone could redo it and expand on the IP, but do it with the justice it deserves.
Sadly... JMS IS doing a reboot... but it is coming from Hollywood...in Current Year. ".. and you KNOW what that means..."
Everyone wants a Babylon 5 reboot, but it seems unlikely to happen.
And I pray to the Great Maker that is does NOT happen... but sadly... it looks like it will...
@@SogoTX You didn't like Babylon 5?
I love that Vir didn't ask for Morden to be beheaded, he just asked to be there when it happens. Like to Vir this wasn't just a possibility but an inevitable conclusion and he was right.
They dropped hints early on that Vir had steel in him - remember him facing down the Techno Mages? And this? It's not surprising he became the greatest of the Centauri Emperors. And even after his driving out the Drakh (the final fixing of what Londo had done with the Shadows) he still honored Londo as his mentor, raised a statue to him and a toast at Sheridans farewell. Class act.
If I was asked this question all I really want in life is an apology from certain people, who I can then let happily slip from my life into their oblivion.
Hes such an amazing actor.
Vir was more in control of this conversation than is immediately apparent. Before he even says much, he's about to get up and leave when Morden says he wants Mollari. Vir genuinely did not care to continue the conversation, so Morden had to find a way to continue it and did so by asking Vir what he wants only to get a useless (to him) at best answer.
Never understand the chactor. What was his storyline
J. Michael Strazynski stated that He hated killing off Marcus.....He said that if he had known the Actress who played Ivanova had already decided to leave the show he would have kept Marcus around because he was such a great character......
Then Denn-'sha it shall be!
molnodow has stood upt tpo the shadow, the human abasadoer, and jkar. vire is another mater
Did Morden give Vir the bird when he handed the data crystal to him? A small item is usually held between the thumb and index finger, not with the middle finger. BTW, this scene and Londo's confrontation with Morden on Centauri Prime are my favorites from B5.
i forget his name, but delenis assistast was a decent dude
Bill Mumy.
He is Lanier, of the Third Fane of Chudomo... (SPOILER)... And he WAS a decent dude...until his unrequited love for Delenn caused him to mess up and betray the Rangers by not trying to save Sheridan when he could have... ;)
a prettyy good scene
1:49 My thoughts were the same as the captain's. After hearing what that devil said I wanted to give him what for. And without spoiling what happened to him, let's just say I don't agree with the ruling.
Denn-shah.
"Then Den-sha is shall be..." ;)
I find this scene a little ironic for one reason. Marcus knew that Valen was actually Jeffrey David Sinclair, a human transformed by the triluminary to look like a Mimbari!
Not yet, I think. That doesn't get revealed yet?
